Deadline 4.1 (42706)

I just upgraded my Repository server as well as all the Render Slave machines to the latest Deadline 4.1 build and I must say, the performance seems better (over a WAN VPN) and some tiny bugs presented in the older version seem to be ironed out.

The installation couldn’t have been easier. Since it was a point update, I just installed over the Repository and the Clients, all seems to be working perfectly.

Great job, Prime Focus Deadline team!

  1. Don’t forget to add this Deadline patch if you have any dual 6-core machines which takes your overall core count beyond 16 (with HT enabled) and you have recently upgraded these machines with the most recent 3dsMax hotfix from Autodesk.

Don’t you just love it when Autodesk back port changes to backburner in a hotfix and don’t document it clearly for sysadmin / developers!

    Fun fun..

  2. Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I don’t have any dual CPU machines in my farm, yet. However, the issue with Autodesk is one of a whole lot. They never seem to document their bug fixes or API changes! That is truly tragic…
